Xandros Server OS 1.0
Publisher's Description:
Xandros Server OS - Linux offers important benefits that are critical to all businesses; security, stability, and reliability. However, many businesses have faced challenges in realizing these benefits because of the complexities of deploying and using Linux. First, Linux is primarily a command-line operating system. This means that using Linux requires programming experience, and command line skills. For anyone not meeting these requirements, Linux is difficult to use. Even for administrators who do possess these skills, using the command line to manage federated services across a multi-server environment is extremely complex. Traditionally these factors have required companies invest heavily in skills training for server administrators and to employ a high administrator to server ratio. Finally, the cost of switching to Linux is high as it requires a complicated migration process from Windows to Linux.
Xandros Server offers businesses the benefits of Linux, without any of the complexities and associated costs. Employing graphical management tools, centralized administration, and workflow-based wizards, Xandros Server streamlines server management and eliminates the need for Linux server administration skills or use of the command line. This revolutionary design enables Windows Server administrators to manage Xandros servers, without any additional training, and businesses to use their administrative resources more efficiently.
Xandros makes Linux the smart choice for any business, regardless of size, existing infrastructure or technical resources.

A start....
I enjoy using a stable and secure backend OS that tailors to beginners and even experienced users. My only negative comment is a few small GUI bugs that are sometimes similar if not worse than windows annoyances. Most of the time windows based GUI's tend to make some tasks very cumbersom, at least one can turn to the Console and not semi-DOS stuffed among the code of XP. Finally, a Win-Linux hybrid that most will find to be all they will ever need, one thing is for sure... Xandros is the way Windows never will be; dependable.
